Artist's Comments

A wolf chewing on a caribou horn while the Northern Lights play about in the nighttime sky.

Done with a variety of charcoal pencil, graphite, and coloured pencils.

Comments/critic welcome.

We've just gotten our new scanner, and while I was waiting for a scanner, I drew this. It was intended to be Kaoru, but I thought, no. Instead it's just a random wolf having a meal. Used refference from a Book of Wolves. Took a total of five hours or more.

Skittles the picture is awesome!! I've always had trouble drawing that pose... Only crit would be that the teeth are slightly out of place.. Other then that I love it.. :D

His teeth aren't out of place, because the way he is chewing on the horns; his lips shift, but his entire jaw is straight-forward, that is how it was in the Book of Wolves. You can see the line to which his other tooth sort of pokes out on the upper left, but his lips obscure it. Trust me, it was very odd when I saw it on the picture of that wolf, but that's how it was. :O

The book is called just Wolves, by Seymour Simon, and in there is a picture of which I used for refference. The caribou, teeth, and wolf, practicly copied it straight out from that book.

I'll try to find a picture of it on the net and show you the... oddity. :D

You probably have, it's from a book called Wolves that I own, by Seymour Simon. Heh, I use that book for a lot of refferences when I try to draw a serious picture. n.n Thank yew!
